Infusio Somni — Formula Quietis

I. Description

A tranquil herbal tisane created to ease the nervous system toward rest.

Aromatic nervines and gentle sedative botanicals help soften mental tension,

quiet circular thought, and support the body’s nightly renewal.

II. Composition

Passiflora incarnata — Anxiolytic, hypnotic, antispasmodic, GABA

modulation

Melissa officinalis — Mild sedative, carminative, cognitive relaxant

Lavandula angustifolia — Aromatic nervine, calming, antidepressant

Scutellaria lateriflora — Nervine tonic, anxiolytic

Rosa damascena — Aromatic relaxant, emotional harmoniser

III. Indications

Restlessness, difficulty falling asleep, nighttime mental overactivity, and tension

of the body or mind prior to bed.

IV. Materia Medica Notes

Passionflower — Softens the busy mind and smooths nocturnal transitions.

Lemon Balm — Settles the gut-brain axis; ushers calm to thoughts.

Lavender — Grounds and centres; aromatic balm for the senses.

Skullcap — Calms frazzled nerves; restores parasympathetic balance.

Rose — Heart-restorative; gently uplifts where worry burdens.

V. Administration

Infuse 1–2 teaspoons per cup in freshly boiled water.

Cover and steep 10–15 minutes.

Drink 30–60 minutes before bedtime as part of an evening ritual.

VI. Safety

Avoid excessive use during pregnancy.

May enhance sedative medications — use caution with CNS depressants.

Suitable for short- to medium-term support.
